AES DANA at The Yard
Vincent Villuis, known as AES DANA, is a pioneering composer, sound designer, DJ, and founder of Ultimae Records. With over 25 years in the electronic music scene, he began his career as a founding member of Asura before moving into solo work that blends Deep Ambient, Downtempo, IDM, Electronica Neo-Classical, Industrial, and Minimal Drum’n’Bass.
A versatile musician, Vincent’s journey started in coldwave and industrial bands as a bassist and vocalist. His shift to composing with machines saw him specialise in audio sampling and transforming acoustic sounds into rich, cinematic soundscapes.
Across nine albums, numerous collaborations, and acclaimed sample libraries, AES DANA has worked with artists including Magnus Birgersson (Solar Fields), Miktek, and Lauge. His music has appeared in films, documentaries, BBC programmes, and in 2024 was used by Stevie Nicks for her anthem The Lighthouse. As head of Ultimae Studios, he continues to influence the global electronic music landscape.
