Thursday 19 November 2026, 7pm – 11pm (Performance starts 8:00pm)
Manchester-based trio Digging for Kanky celebrate the release of their debut album, Raining Stones, with a special live show at The Yard.
Shaped by trip-hop, post-club sounds, and northern realism, the band’s dark, low-lit electronic music sits comfortably in the lineage of Massive Attack, Leftfield, and The Streets. Comprising Ben Powell, Adam Smith, and Kat Brown, their sound is built on heavy atmosphere, live vocals, and stripped-back production. The upcoming 15-track album takes its name from Ken Loach’s iconic film, which was shot on the estate they grew up around, channeling that same sense of grit, tension, and lived experience.
To mark the occasion, the band will perform material from the record live, culminating in the official midnight release of Raining Stones as the evening comes to a close. Support comes from Manchester drum and bass and dubstep producer Cartridge alongside Manchester MC Charlie Boy Manson, delivering a full night of original music from three distinctive local artists.
